Matt, the Tenfold interactive genius, is taveling to Africa after the holidays and recently stumbled upon the work of Nick Brandt, a British photographer working in East Africa. Like Nick, Matt also happens to be a photographer, and boxes of camera equipment have been arriving weekly at the Tenfold office in preparation for his trip. After viewing Nick's work, the bar for Matt's shoot was raised a little higher. No pressure Matt.

Autumn Evening At The Feed & Grain

The Tenfold Collective office is located in the heart of downtown Loveland. We have a stake in seeing the area maintain it's heritage while becoming a lively commercial center. Tenfold principal, Christopher, and his wife, Erin, have been working to restore the Loveland Feed & Grain, one of downtown's oldest buildings and a reminder of Loveland's agrarian past. We hope to see the Feed & Grain become a vibrant mixed use space that will be shared by public and private interests.
On November 7th, The Tenfold Collective is presenting a fundraiser at the Feed & Grain to help with restoration efforts. The event will center around a one-night art gallery featuring the monoprints and after-hours work of Hatch Show Print of Nashville Tennessee. Hatch is one of the country's oldest letterpress shops, creating posters for the likes of Johnny Cash, Elvis, and the Grand Ole Opry. Their work has a broad appeal among art collectors, music fans, Americana buffs, and graphic designers. Like the Feed & Grain, Hatch was saved by a group of concerned citizens. Today, they are a part of the Country Music Hall of Fame and currently touring the U.S. in a Smithsonian Exhibition. The Feed & Grain is the perfect backdrop to feature the American graphic art tradition of Hatch Show Print.
The evening will also feature work by local artists, live musical entertainment, appetizers, drinks, and a silent auction. The proceeds will benefit the Feed & Grain. Tickets are $10. To purchase tickets or get more information, visit tenfoldgallery.com.

Winemaker Partners With Designers

JAQK Cellars was launched this month by winemaker Craig Maclean and graphic designers Katie Jain and Joel Templin. Maclean was a client of Jain and Templin before they went into the winemaking business together. The three were united by doing what they love. The partnership has produced a beautiful concept built around card games: JAQK is pronounced "Jack" with each letter representing Jack, Ace, Queen, King. The theme is cleverly played out in each category of wine. Every box set includes a set of custom playing cards.

Tenfold Redesigns Windward Reports Website

So, it's been a busy week at Tenfold (maybe that's why we haven't been posting lately). Christopher posted earlier about the designs that were tested for Windward Reports. Because our design won, we were selected to redesign their entire site. Here are the results.

Tenfold Redesigns RGA Environmental's Website

The Tenfold Collective just launched the newly redesigned website for RGA Environmental of Emeryville, CA. The site features a time lapse video on the homepage, real-time reflection of the site along the bottom, and a dynamic project portfolio managed by the client through a php control panel created by our partners Rocket Jones.
The completely unsolicited response from the client: "Thank you to all of you at Tenfold Collective for creating a beautiful site for us. You were great to work with and we will recommend you to others."

Loyal Loot Log Bowls

Loyal Loot Collective, who created the bowls above, share a similar perspective with the Tenfold Collective:
"Each member approaches her practice with a varying perspective and knowledge, and share a common dedication to create objects which posses an inherent value that will endure and remained loved."
The Tenfold Collective feels the same way about graphic design. We'd love to meet the folks at Loyal Loot someday, and more importantly we'd love to buy some bowls.

Is it ridicule?
I am sure it happened way before Saturday Night Live, but SNL is the first place that many in our generation experienced the freedom that Americans have to ridicule our nation's leaders. Whether or not it's a good thing I don't know, but, confessedly, it is often pretty funny.
We ran across this website the other day, thought it was clever, and appreciated the craft. Whether or not this kind of thing is good for America is up to you:
